Based on real life on the Okinawan island of Minami-Daito. The film depicts the excitement and anxieties of a girl, Yuna (Miyoshi Ayaka), in her last year of junior high school, living on an island without a high school where further study means leaving home. After her mother followed her older sister when she left for high school, Yuna worries about her father’s solitary life after she leaves as well. A beautiful family drama unfolds.

沖縄本島から東へ360kmにある絶海の孤島・南大東島。子どもたちは高校進学のため、15歳で島を出て家族と離れて暮らさねばならない。少女民謡グループ“ボロジノ娘”は、毎年別れの唄「アバヨーイ」を歌い、島を旅立っていく。「明日から、ボロジノ娘は優奈がリーダーだからね」先輩・文香（野吾沙織）から、そう肩をたたかれた優奈（三吉彩花）。兄・正志（小久保寿人）、姉・美奈（早織）、そして美奈の進学に合わせて母・明美（大竹しのぶ）もが島を出て以来、優奈はさとうきび農家を営む島人の父・利治（小林薫）とずっとふたり暮らし。そうして、優奈が島で過ごす最後の一年が始まった。
